Editorial Review of Chicago Brauhaus

photo: Clifton Henri; the Brauhaus band
If you're looking for a place where the Oktoberfest never seems to end, a night out at the Chicago Brauhaus can provide just that non-stop German party. With St. Pauli girl-like servers dolled up in timeless Bavarian outfits, a lederhosen-clad Oompah band playing nightly at 7 p.m. wooden paneled walls and the young and old alike taking a turn on the dance floor, it's hard not to get caught up in the feeling of good cheer.

Start off with some German beer, including the eponymous Brauhaus Bier, Spaten, Hofbrau and Steigl. If you're in need of eats, the traditional menu is chock full of German favorites like bratwurst, wiener schnitzel, hackenbraten beef roulauden and homemade soups. You wonít walk away from the Brauhaus hungry, but you probably will be singing German hits as you totter down the street to your next stop.

Average cost: $10-$20
