Inebriated Cubs fans don't have too far to stumble. They can keep drinking and score post-game munchies right across the street from Wrigley at Casey Moran's. Its wooden interior, pearly chandeliers and heavy wrought-iron railings make it seem a bit upscale, but really, that's as far as it goes. Beefy, black-clad bouncers grunt "hello" to oodles of elated or deflated fans, and after games a DJ spins Top 40 music by a small dance floor.
You won't have to worry about shelling out more than $10 for the mountainous noshes here, like nachos grandes, cobb salad or a beef tenderloin sandwich. You'll find 11 tap beers ($5 a pop) and all the mixed drinks ($6.50-$9.50) you can handle served by petite waitresses whose outfits leave just enough to the imagination.
If you can't find a scalper, you can watch the game on one of the bar's 30 high-definition plasma televisions hanging throughout its main, side and VIP rooms. The screens play predominantly Cubs games during the season, but you can also catch the Bears, Bulls and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Step out back to find a climate-controlled, Spanish-style beer garden lined with patio lights. Its retractable roof and full service bar keep it functioning during every season except for in the dead of winter. When the Cubs aren't in town, CM offers a "1 thru 5" special on Thursday that includes $1 burgers, $2 Bud Light drafts, $3 dollar Absolute cocktails, $4 Fat Tire drafts and $5 bombs. Sports fan or not (or Wrigleyville fan or not), spending a reasonably priced Thursday night in an attractive beer garden has to sound appealing.
