You may think you're too old to go to Beaumont, but remember: We're all too old to go to Beaumont's. If it feels like a frat party and it looks like a frat party... it just might be Beaumont's, the I-just-ended-up-here-with-no-idea-what-transportation-I-took late-night hotspot for the collegiate, the recently collegiate and the reminiscing collegiate crowd. A small dance floor up in front is almost always empty, but oddly placed cameras and video screens give you a glimpse at the back dance floor where the action really takes place. Some dancers take a break on the couches in back from the 1993-esque mix of feel-good "Groove is in the Heart," "O.P.P."-type songs. Most everyone's sporting a beer and if you're not, chances are some bargoer looking to meet someone will buy one for you. There's a small cover (usually $5), but what's that to pay for this trip down a paddle-tiled memory lane? The back room opens at 1 a.m. (crowds pile into the place late) and rocks till almost dawn. Made-to-order pizza comes out hot for half-price on Friday and Saturday nights.
