At the ripe old age of 72, Jake's Pub is a bar that will definitely stick in your mind. If the extensive beer selection doesn't impress you (17 draught beers including Sierra Nevada, Goose Island Honker's Ale and Guinness, plus 49 bottles), the bar wall certainly will; it's literally covered in photographs, but not in a creepy "One Hour Photo" way. Add black and white drawings and mounted deer heads to the interior equation, and you've got one heavy dose of character.
In addition to its dog-friendly attitude, Jake's boasts a pool table, darts, pinball and a jukebox. It's chill enough to serve as a hang-out during happy hour, but when the sun goes down and the music's turned up, you better believe this is the place to party. Even the bartenders help themselves to a bit of the ol' sauce. Most of them have been around awhile and have some great stories to tell, as do some of the regular patrons. In an effort to keep the Jake's experience fresh, the staff updates the draught beer often, incorporates new beers all the time and offers a "beer of the month."
