This creatively named watering hole isn't really a pub in the "jolly ol' England" sense, but more accurately, is a chill and decently crowded place to hang. Though you'll find sports on the telly, don't expect a sports bar crowd. Instead, the Bucktown pub's clientele is a peculiar mix of blue-collar locals and ever-so-hip hipsters.

Framed posters of bands such as 13th Floor Elevators and the Grateful Dead (psychedelia alert!) are hung on the exposed brick walls, those the sounds streaming from the juke are decidedly more modern. The red lighting, coming from both the bar counter as well as the hanging lights, gives off a low-key impression, an impression further cemented in your mind as you look for a place to sit: the broken-in stools at the bar, tables on the side or outside on the patio.

As far as specials/special events are concerned, Sunday and Tuesday are your best bets. Tuesday features $2 and $3 pints and karaoke, while Sunday is open-mic night. The singing starts at ten, and be sure to show up then, as it is self-described by the Bucktown Pub as a "best kept secret."
