This not-for-profit printshop brings together a diverse community of youth, emerging and established artists, and the public to advance the fine art of printmaking. Programming includes a variety of course offerings for adults as well as college and high school students, open studio time for professional printmakers, and the option to rent the facilities for etching, lithography, and silkscreening.
Fittingly enough the educational enterprise very recently moved to an actual school environment. At the start of of the summer of 2006 Anchor Graphics moved shop from 119 W. Hubbard St. to 623 S. Wabash Ave., which is in the heart of the Columbia College Chicago campus. The outfit's new digs in this South Loop school known for excellent fine arts programming should fit nicely.
While the print shop is up and running in the new location, a gallery for displaying print works has not yet been set up.
